ECOTARLA®
Birlik has been a major organic supplier since early 2000’s and a grower since 2006.
Ecotarla® organic projects are located in 8 different regions in Turkey. Our organically grown and certified products are mainly anise, cumin, fennel, poppy seed and oregano. Additionally both wild collected and cultivated, thyme, oregano, rosemary, sage and laurel leaves are part of our Organic Program.
Based on our projection, organic seeds, organic soil amendments and agricultural supplies suitable for organic cultivation are supplied to the farmers by our full time agricultural engineers. Periodically our agricultural engineers visit the projects and provide technical consultancy in every aspect.
Birlik provides new sacks to the farmers before the procurement and every sack is labeled by the farmer for traceability. Our products are purchased from each farmer and dispatched to the warehouses of Birlik by our agricultural engineers.
Every step from farm to warehouse, are carried out under the supervision and control of our agricultural engineers.
Every year and in each region a training program on organic agriculture emphasizing organic principles and GAP is granted to the contracted farmers by Birlik.
PERIODIC VISITS OF ORGANIC CERTIFICATION BODY

Certification body visits each project, meets each farmer and visits each farmer’s field at least two times per year. Products are randomly sampled and chemically analyzed by the certification body. If the products comply with the regulations, certifying body grants organic certification for the inspected goods.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
A portion of the revenue from Ecotarla® is contributed to Forestation Fund based on our Social Responsibility program.
